The journal "Infection and Immunity" has published an article titled "Prevalence, lineages, and sublineages of human papillomavirus type 16 in underlying, precancerous diseases, and cervical cancer in Northwest Russia". The article was co-authored by Institute scientists Lyudmila Lyalina, Anna Vyazova, Alexandra Pleskacheva, Anna Gladkikh and Evgeny Kasatkin. Cervical tissue samples from 223 patients from St. Petersburg with morphologically confirmed background, precancerous diseases and cervical cancer were examined.
