The Russian Science Foundation and the Natural Science Foundation of China announced winners of their joint call for proposals for research groups for the funding period 2024-2026 in all research disciplines. The projects were evaluated independently, by Chinese and Russian experts. The winners were scientific teams that received positive assessments from experts from both countries. The size of one grant from the Russian Science Foundation will be from 4 to 7 million rubles (40,000 to 70,000 EUR), annually.
A total of 51 projects were supported. In particular, a project of the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics of the Institute was supported. The project title: “Multifaceted adaptation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to new generation antibiotics at the population and individual levels and the impact on transmission” (project number - 24-44-00004). PI of the Russian team: Igor Mokrousov, PI of the Chinese team: Dr. A-dong Shen (Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China).
It can be noted that this would be the 6th project from Igor Mokrousov's laboratory supported by RSF since the RSF inauguration in 2014.
