On October 3-15, 2023, Dr. Vladimir Zarubaev, Head of Experimental Virology Laboratory, took part at the 3rd International Conference «Natural Products and Human Health» - ICNPHH-2023, Catanduva (Brazil).
During the scientific trip, the scientist got acquainted with the University of Catanduva, its activity fields and laboratories’ equipment. At the conference Dr. Zaribaev took part in plenary session and delivered the following presentation: «Chemically Modified Plant Metabolites as Potent Antivirals». Also, as a part of the student short course program, he gave a lecture «Development of novel antivirals».
By the end of the Conference the participants finalized the working progress and carried out negotiations in order to specify possible directions and ways of potential cooperation, which revealed great interest in the research conducted at the Institute. Scientists in the field of phytochemistry and synthetic chemistry from Brazil, India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Ethiopia expressed their intentions to collaborate, send samples for analysis and joint research in the field of antiviral and immunomodulatory activities of plant extracts and synthetic compounds. Such cooperation is necessary for the search and development of new drugs to control viral infections and correct immunopathological processes. In addition, colleagues from these countries expressed their readiness to organize joint seminars, experts exchange and international conferences on the basis of collaborating institutes and universities. In particular, a proposal was made to hold a similar conference (ICNPHH-2025) in 2025 in Russia.
