On September 25 - October 10, 2023, on the basis of the Joint Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Research and Technological Center in Hanoi (Vietnam), Doctor of Biological Sciences Olga Kalinina, leading researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics and Evgenia Lichnaya, junior researcher of the laboratory, carried out the next stage of research activities on «Sero- and molecular epidemiological monitoring of viral hepatitis» within the framework of the Federal project «Sanitary shield - health safety (prevention, detection and response)».
An expedition was organized and implemented in cooperation with Vietnamese colleagues to the northern province of Cao Bằng, on the border with China, with the aim to collect biological material from native people belonging to various ethnic minorities.
The further work plan of the scheduled thesis was discussed with Bui Thi Thanh Nga, a PHD student. During the meeting with the top management of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, which is part of the Joint Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Research and Technology Center in Hanoi, the expoerts succeeded to discuss plans for further joint research.
