From June 5 to 7, 2023, the Hilton Saint Petersburg ExpoForum hosted the International Symposium “100 years carrying the name Louis Pasteur”, dedicated to the anniversary of the St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute. The symposium brought together scientists from 13 foreign countries (Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Guinea, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, China, Republic of Congo, Laos, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), representatives of Rospotrebnadzor, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, the Government of St. Petersburg, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian scientific community.
The symposium was opened by Elena Yezhlova, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor). She greeted the audience on behalf of Anna Popova, the Head of Rospotrebnadzor, Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation: "Since its establishment, the St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute was and remains the leading national institute in the fields of epidemiology, microbiology and immunology. The authority scientific institute is recognized both in Russia and in international scientific society.'
On June 5, during the symposium, plenary reports were presented “On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences” (Valery Chereshnev), “100 years carrying the name Pasteur” (Areg Totolian), “The first successes of synthetic biology in Russia” (Vadim Govorun), “Innate lymphoid cells (ILC)-mediated antiviral immunity” (Angela Santoni, Rome, Italy), “Complexity and regulation upon SARS-CoV-2 infection” (Yungui Yang, Beijing , China), “Vaccines in the fight against cancer” (Vitaly Zverev) and “Tumors of the immune system” (Alexander Rumyantsev).
On June 6 and 7, during the symposium, meetings of 11 sections were held, where 85 scientific reports and 20 posters were presented.
