Russia and Venezuela expand scientific partnership in biosecurity

On June 17, 2026, in Caracas, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, experts from St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute (Rospotrebnadzor) hold a meeting with the president and leading specialists of the Rafael Rangel National Institute of Hygiene (INHRR).

During the discussions, the parties approved a plan for joint scientific and practical research at INHRR, which will take place from June 18 to July 2. Scientists from both countries will conduct diagnostics for socially significant and vaccine-preventable infections using modern domestic test systems. Areas of interest for sanitary and epidemiological monitoring include viral hepatitis (A, B, C, D, E), measles, rubella, parvovirus B19, as well as the causative agents of diphtheria and whooping cough. The current stage of joint research marks the strengthening of the two countries' strategic partnership in the fight against infectious diseases.
