
World Tuberculosis Day is an international UN day observed under the motto "Yes! We Can Stop Tuberculosis". It is celebrated annually on March 24 at the initiative of the World Health Organization, which declared tuberculosis a global health concern in 1993. Events are held in various countries around the world to commemorate this day.
Dr. Igor Mokrousov, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics, spoke at an international webinar at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. The seminar was organized by Professor Urvashi Singh, Director of the National Tuberculosis Control Program, India. In his online lecture, Igor Mokrousov presented the results of research supported by the Russian Science Foundation grant 24-44-00004, and focused on the study of genetics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis adaptation to external pressure in vitro and in vivo.
