At the end of February 2026, the journal Frontiers of Immunology published an article on immune system mediator molecules – cytokines – and a mathematical description of their interactions in COVID-19. This study, authored by Zoya Korobova, PhD, a researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Immunology, and Areg Totolian, MD, professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, combined previously accumulated data on the cytokine profile in infections caused by different SARS-CoV-2 genotypes and in post-COVID syndrome.
