Scientists of the Institute visited Vietnam for a working visit

On September 19 – October 9, 2025, Anna Gladkikh, Head of the Molecular Genetic Monitoring Laboratory, Ekaterina Klyuchnikova, Researcher, and Anastasia Bachevskaya, Junior Researcher, took part in a working visit to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The trip was a part of the Federal Project “Sanitary Shield” and continued Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the study of natural focal and zoonotic infections on the following topics "Study of the Importance Zoonotic Infections in the Structure of Natural Focal Diseases in Vietnam" and "Genotype Diversity of Dengue Virus in Humans and Vectors (Aedes Mosquitoes) in Central Vietnam". The Russian delegation, together with their Vietnamese colleagues, conducted molecular genetic and serological research and also took part in the scientific conference "Regional Collaboration and Innovation against Antibiotic Resistance in Asia".

A key part of the visit's program was the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang. Russian scientists participated in the celebratory events and a roundtable discussion on the development of international cooperation in epidemiology. As a mark of respect for the history and traditions of the Pasteur Institutes, the delegation laid flowers at the burial site of Alexandre Yersin, the founder of the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang.

During the meetings, the parties discussed the preliminary results of joint projects aimed at studying the genetic diversity of viruses and the mechanisms of their spread in Vietnam. The visit was an important step in strengthening the long-standing partnership between the Pasteur Institutes of St. Petersburg and Nha Trang, as well as in developing international scientific collaboration on epidemiological security.
