On March 21, 2024 following the invitation of the Honorary Consul of the United Mexican States Mr. Andrey Kuznetsov Deputy Director for Innovation Dr. Svetlana Egorova visited the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in the Northern capital. In his welcome address the Ambassador of Mexico to the Russian Federation Mr. Eduardo Villegas Megias introduced Dr. Andrey Kuznetsov the first honorary Consul in the entire history of diplomatic relations between our countries, and expressed hope for further strengthening of ties between the two friendly countries.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the city administration, the Legislative Assembly and scientific organizations of our city took part in the ceremony. Acting Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Sergey Markov delivered a welcoming address on behalf Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg.
In January 2024 a working meeting was held in Institute between the Institute top management and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States, Mr. Megias. The purpose of the visit was to develop interaction with the competent departments of Mexico in the field of combating infectious diseases.
